Life Transitions

“Even the darkest night will end, and the sun will rise” - Victor Hugo

Transitions Can Be Scary, But Are Often Times Necessary For Growth…

Life transitions are challenging because they force us to let go of the familiar and face the future with a feeling of vulnerability. It is normal to be afraid of the unknown when our lives are disrupted. However, transitions can also be positive, as they give us the chance to learn about our strengths and explore what we really want out of life.

According to Jane Cranston, an executive coach, career coach and managing consultant, we all have “disruptions” in our lives every 12-18 months; most being unpredictable, many for the better, some seeming terrible but end up enhancing our lives, and others are real challenges.

If you are feeling stuck, desperately seeking change, are unsure of which path to take or what change should look like, you are likely dealing with a life transition. Maybe a new group of friends, new apartment or new neighborhood to live in. Perhaps a new job or returning to school. Transitions can upset the balance of life and cause one to feel unstable.

Life Transition therapy focuses on a therapist working in depth with you to identify major life stressors, explore your symptoms and discuss how they may be affecting your ability to live your life the way that you would like. Our team of therapists will provide you with emotional support, while assisting you in getting back to a preferred routine. While working with your therapist you will have the opportunity to learn more about why the stressful event/changes in your life have affected you so much, as well as how to better manage and cope with future life events that come your way. Our goal is to help you feel confident and secure as you move forward with changes in your life.
